MONTAGNY
Montagny is a very attractive wine. It tends to be fuller than white Rully. The bouquet is delicate with a hint of hazelnuts and ferns. It has a dry taste, slightly mineral, which should come as no surprise since a little Kimmeridgian clay, as in Chablis, is found in the appellation. There is often a distinctive spicy taste which, again, is ascribed to the soil. The wines should be drunk between 2 and 6 years. |
