CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY

PREMIER CRU

Besides the Grand Crus of Musigny and Bonnes-Mares, the House of Joseph DROUHIN is also the owner of several distinguished Premier Cru vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny. These Premier Crus are vinified separately, in the traditional Burgundian style, and then assembled together under the Premier Cru label.

Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, always singled out for its finesse and elegance, is one of the most sophisticated wines of the Côte de Nuits. With its lovely ruby colour, the wine develops complex aromas reminiscent of violets, cherries and humus. Extremely well-balanced, it coats the mouth with a velvety touch where blackberries and noble tannins are in evidence. On the finish, it is well rounded and persistant. When ageing, aromas turn to mushroom and undergrowth without losing none of their finesse. It is a wine which charms first, then impresses with its ripe, lush style.

Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru should be served with delicately prepared dishes, such as "Canard aux cerises" (duck cooked with cherries) or "Boeuf aux morilles" (beef with morels). The cheeses should be ripe but not too strong.
