BOURGOGNE ALIGOTE

Bourgogne Aligoté of Joseph DROUHIN is a dry white wine made 100% from a typical grape variety, Aligoté, found only in Burgundy. The grapes come from all over Burgundy, but mainly from the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, the Hautes Côtes de Nuits and from the Côte Chalonnaise (region of Mercurey). After the grapes undergo a gentle pressing, the juice then ferments in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature in order to keep the freshness of the fruit.
Bourgogne Aligoté is a light, white wine, very pale gold in colour and a sustained greenish hue. Its fresh, clean fragrance is reminiscent of the grape itself : green apples and lemon. On the palate, the refreshing and vibrant nature of the wine is balanced by a certain softness. It leaves a pleasant and aromatic sensation ending on a delicate note.

Ageing capabilities : Bourgogne Aligoté has enough acidity to keep its vibrant and fruity characteristics for 3 to 4 years. Nevertheless, it is most appealing when drunk very young.

Serving the wine : the wonderful freshness of Bourgogne Aligoté is best appreciated when the wine is served quite cool, at about 9 to 10°C (50°F). This wine goes perfectly well with slightly salty or spicy dishes.
