Hail storms June 28th, 2014

On Saturday, June 28th in the evening a series of hail storms combined with strong winds hit the vineyards of Burgundy, especially in Côte de Beaune, like in 2013 and 2012.

Some parcels were very badly hit but the situation may vary in a short distance and it is not easy to be accurate in reporting the damage.

Today, an initial audit shows that the mid-slopes in Pommard, Volnay as well as Beaune hills (among which Clos des Mouches) were the worst hit. It is however too soon to estimate real losses for the future crop.
